Depicting a pack of dogs chasing a crowd of Seminoles, the cartoon exaggerates on several scores. The dogs in Florida never
succeeded in rounding up more than two Indians, total, and there were few if any engagements in the war where U.S. forces overran large Seminole settlements. The Teepee-style homes are also a clue that accuracy was not the driving force behind the illustration.
